Alliance for the Arts The Alliance for the Arts serves the entire cultural community through research and advocacy and serves the public through cultural guides and calendars, including NYCkidsARTS, culture calendar for teachers and parents. ArtsEdge Provides access to information and resources for artists, teachers, and students that support the arts as a core subject in the K-12 curriculum. AskERIC The ERIC database is the world's largest source of educationally-related resources. The database encompasses all the resources of the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), a federally-funded information system. Questions about anything from special education to curriculum development can also be submitted to ERIC's Q&A. Center for Arts Education The Center for Arts Education is an independent, not-for-profit organization committed to restoring and sustaining arts education as an essential part of every child's education in the NYC public schools. The Center identifies, funds, and supports exemplary partnerships and programs that demonstrate how the arts contribute to learning and student achievement. Educator's Reference Desk The Educator's Reference Desk is a project of the Information Institute of Syracuse. The Reference Desk provides access to an extensive list of resources on a variety of educational issues, thousands of lesson plans, an archive of questions and answers on the practice, theory, and research of education, and a link to the ERIC database. Empire State Partnerships (ESP) Empire State Partnerships (ESP) is dedicated to identifying, developing and nurturing promising practices in arts education through support of long-term collaborations between cultural organizations and schools. The project focuses on student achievement of the New York State Learning Standards and contributing to the improvement of teaching and learning in New York State schools Library of Congress Search the catalog. Lincoln Center Institute for the Arts in Education A wing of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Institute provides aesthetic education programs for elementary and secondary teachers and their students in the metropolitan area. The Museum of the City of New York The Museum of the City of New York is a private, not-for-profit educational corporation founded in 1923 for the purpose of presenting the history of New York City and its people as a significant learning resource. New York City Arts Coalition The New York City Arts Coalition is a sixteen year old membership network of arts professionals and arts supporters organized for education, advocacy and public policy development in the nonprofit arts field. Membership is open to all not-for-profit arts groups, arts professionals and individual supporters of the arts. New York City Department of Education The site includes current news and listings of all districts and schools. New York City Department of Cultural Affairs The goal of the Department is to promote the cultural life of New York City and to articulate the contributions made by the cultural community to the City's economy. New York Foundation for the Arts NYFA is a nonprofit service organization and one of the largest providers of grants and services to individual artists and arts-related organization in all artistic disciplines in the United States. Their new website, NYFA Interactive, includes NYFA Current, a weekly national newsletter (formerly ArtsWire), and NYFA Source, a national database of information on grants, awards, services, and publications for artists in all disciplines. New York State Council on the Arts The New York State Council on the Arts is dedicated to preserving and expanding the rich and diverse cultural resources that are the heritage of the people of New York State. Studio in a School Association For the past twenty-five years, Studio in a School has brought professional artists into public schools, transitional housing facilities, and child care and community centers to share drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture with children of all ages. United States Department of Education The Department publishes a wealth of information for teachers, administrators, policymakers, researchers, parents, and students.
