MEDIA ARTS
With video artist Rubén Gonzaléz, students learn all aspects of producing a video from camera basics to story development to filming and editing. Students collaborate on public service announcements that they write and create about topics relevant to their own lives.
PLAYWRITING
Actor, director and storyteller Carmen Rivera teaches students the elements of playwriting. Using improvisational techniques, students create and develop characters and situations then transpose their scenes onto the written page. At the culminating event, students may present their scenes to the class.
PLAYWRITING
Actor, director and playwright Candido Tirado helps students tap into their imaginations through play writing workshops. Students participate in improvisational theater, character development and script writing focused on creating and resolving conflict. Students also experience a dramatic reading of their scripts by professional actors or other students.
