After our standing-room only September Open House, where one TRaC alumni on the teen panel proclaimed the program is building "an arts-going army," ArtsConnection's Teen Reviewers and Critics (TRaC) celebrated the start of its new season! Thanks to the generosity of Blue Man Group, every student from all six TRaC sections (Dance, Music, Theater, Visual Arts, Film and Multi-Arts TRaC) kicked off the season by attending a special performance of the hit show.
70 students have enrolled in Fall TRaC, and three new instructors will join the roster this season. The Teen Reviewers and Critics is a FREE ten-week program during which selected high school students attend a diversity of performances and/or exhibitions, from the bright lights of Broadway to downtown dance spaces. This season, you may run into TRaC Students at Chinglish on Broadway, the Picasso to Koons exhibition at The MAD Museum, or Symphony on the Dance Floor at the Brooklyn Academy of Music!
Each TRaC outing is followed by a discussion and writing workshop, where teens collaborate with their peers and instructors, who are professional artists and writers, to create written reviews of the work they see. These reviews are published online. Follow the TRaC program and read teen reviews on The High 5 Review!
