ARTIST PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

ArtsConnection’s annual professional development Artist Institute, for its roster of 150 teaching artists, centers on current topics/themes in the arts, education and/or arts-education theory. Participants explore these theories and have opportunities to apply them to their teaching practice. The Institute serves as an opportunity for artists to gather together and discuss their work from the previous year as well as to plan for working in the coming school year. Examples of topics covered at past Institutes include:
  • small group work
  • Understanding by Design
  • questioning and reflective strategies
  • classroom management
  • the artistry of teaching

If you are an ArtsConnection teaching artist and want information on the most recent Artist Institute, visit the AC artist login section.

If you are an experienced teaching artist interested in applying to teach for ArtsConnection, visit our how to apply section.
