ArtsConnection’s DELLTA program (Developing English Language Literacy through the Arts) brings together staff, artists, and teachers in NYC public schools who are working with English Language Learners (ELL) in grades 3-8. Collaboration across disciplines among the adults provides students with opportunities for authentic use of English in a context that holds personal meaning and engages them in self-generated conversations.

The original work (2005-2010) focused around a practitioner inquiry question:
What is the nature of teaching and learning in dance and theater; and, in what ways do they influence second language acquisition in English language learners?
