After School/Out of School Time (OST)
ArtsConnection has over 30 years experience working in the New York City public schools. We work with student in grades K-12 in all arts disciplines: dance, music, theater and visual arts. Our Out of School Time (OST) programs are individually designed for each site. We strive to make the arts support your goals for students and fit into your on-going OST program, all the while ensuring that students have FUN!

Storytelling or Theater Arts: Students develop their own stories using improvisational activities to develop characters and settings. Students work in groups to create short scenes and learn to be brave speakers, take appropriate risks and support the efforts of their friends.
Cost: $2,340 for 10 2-hour sessions, one artist. |

 | Dance:Students learn one traditional dance style – Salsa, African, Caribbean, Modern, Jazz or Hip Hop. Every class starts with a structured warm-up and then moves on to learning choreography. Students learn elements of dance such as levels, pathways, shape and direction.
Cost: $2,940 for 10 2-hour sessions, one artist plus an accompanist or assistant.
A large open space such as a gym, stage or empty classroom is necessary for all dance workshops. |

Improvisational Theater: Students learn to always say ‘Yes’ to creative ideas and always ‘Make their partner look good’ in improvisational theater workshops. Students develop characters, settings and short scenes by leaning to trust their creative ideas.
Cost: $2,940 for 10 2-hour sessions, two artists. |

Visual Arts: Students learn all aspects of the artistic process while working in one medium to create work that is personal to them. Possible project include: making books, creating quilts or banners, painting self-portraits and making fantasy animals from clay.
Cost: $3,240 for 10 2-hour sessions, two artists, materials included. |

Music: Students drum in a circle or sing in a group learning musical skills in rhythm, recognizing and replicating musical patterns and how to work in an ensemble.
Cost: $2,940 for 10 2-hour sessions, two artists.
Drums must be purchased for an instrumental program and
a Keyboard or Piano must be available for a vocal program. |
